With the success of Nintendo DSi and the highly anticipated Nintendo 3DS scheduled for release later on this year, Nintendo seems to avoid keeping fans waiting for too long. To fill the gap and keep the excitements high, the new Nintendo DSi XL is officially released to the market. Many see the Nintendo DSi XL as a larger version of Nintendo DSi, but the mobile gaming device actually offers a lot more than that.
The XL in Nintendo DSi XL actually stands for eXtra Large. Compared to Nintendo DSi, the new Nintendo DSi XL is 93% larger. The screens are now 4” large compared to the 3.25” screens found on the original Nintendo DSi. With larger screen and form factor, you can expect to enjoy playing games on the Nintendo DSi XL even more.
Another interesting improvements found on the Nintendo DSi XL is the new Wi-Fi module. You don’t have to worry about not being able to connect to any Wi-Fi access point now, because the new Wi-Fi module is highly compatible with other existing wireless connectivity modules used by top access point manufacturers.
If you already own the original Nintendo DSi, upgrading to Nintendo DSi XL may not be a move you want to make. If you are still using the older Nintendo DS Lite, however, the Nintendo DSi XL can be a superb upgrade while waiting for the next-gen Nintendo 3DS to be released. The sub-£130 price tag does make Nintendo DSi XL even more appealing to wider market segment.
